Jaw Surgery
Corrective jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery) is sometimes needed to correct severe jaw malocclusons. Usually, these are situations where orthodontics alone cannot adequately correct skeletal jaw mal-relationships that result in esthetic, chewing, talking, and sleeping problems. Orthognathic surgery, in conjunction with orthodontic treatment, corrects these bite problems and improves facial esthetics.
We use digital imaging technology to demonstrate the overall functional and esthetic benefits of orthognathic surgery and to assist in treatment planning. Advances in surgical technology have reduced patient recovery time which allows patients to return to their normal routines soon after surgery.
